These rods are built in small runs, not mass-produced. When they're in stock, they ship immediately. If sold out, you can reserve one from the next build run. Next-run builds typically ship in 3–5 weeks.

Shipping Info

Rod Shipping

Fishing rods don't ship like normal packages.

Our rods are shipped in oversized, reinforced tubes designed to prevent breakage in transit. While the rods themselves are lightweight, the packaging required to ship them safely is not — and carriers charge a premium for oversized rod shipments.

We charge a flat $29 shipping fee to keep pricing predictable. Orders over $400 ship free. In most cases, actual shipping costs exceed this amount, and we absorb the difference.

We ship via Pirate Ship–discounted UPS services. Rods ship every Thursday and Saturday afternoon. If your order comes in after cutoff, it goes out on the next available ship day.

Warranty & Support

TrashCan Rodz Warranty Coverage

We don't mass produce. We build individualized problems for fish!

What's Covered

Blank Warranty — 3 Years: Covers structural defects in the rod blank itself. $65 claim fee. Customer pays shipping both ways.

Guides & Wrapping — 90 Days: Covers manufacturing defects in guides and wrapping only. If it fails within 90 days and it's clearly a defect — not abuse — we'll make it right. Customer pays shipping both ways. Repair or replacement at our discretion.

Warranty Timing

  • Coverage begins on the original purchase date
  • Blank warranty runs 3 years from purchase
  • Guide and wrapping defect coverage runs 90 days from purchase.

What's NOT Covered

User Error — Damage caused by misuse, improper handling, or neglect. If it broke because of how it was handled — not how it was built — it's not covered.

Truck Doors & Tailgates — Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Toyota… doesn't matter. Rods don't win that fight.

Stepping or Sitting on It — Under a boot, chair, or cooler — it's done.

High-Sticking — Lifting the rod straight up until it folds beyond its intended load limits.

Hung on Rocks, Docks, or Timber — Pulling until it breaks isn't a structural defect.

Accidental Abuse — Car hoods, ceiling fans, kids, pets… you get the picture.

If you treat it right, we'll stand behind it — simple as that.

Claim Fee & Shipping

Approved claims carry a $65 service fee. The customer is responsible for all shipping costs (both directions).

How to File a Claim

To file a warranty claim, email us at claims@trashcanrodz.com with your order number and a description of the issue. We'll get back to you within 48 hours.

Return & Sales Policy

All sales are final. Due to the handbuilt, small-batch nature of our rods, we do not accept returns or exchanges.

If your rod arrives damaged in shipping, contact us within 48 hours with photos and we'll work with you to file a claim. We strongly recommend inspecting your rod immediately upon delivery.

If a return is authorized in exceptional circumstances, the customer is responsible for return shipping and must insure the rod for its full purchase price. TrashCan Rodz is not responsible for damage that occurs during return shipping.
